Importance and Value of Time in Life

Seldom we realize the importance of time in our life.

There is a saying “Time and tide waits for none”. The saying is indeed true.
We need time to work, to eat, to sleep, and to accomplish all the daily chores of living.
We also need time to know and understand our mates, our children, and our friends. Still we don’t give the importance times deserves.
Time waits for none. It comes and goes. Time is absolutely perishable.
Neither money nor position can buy it. Nothing on earth can subdue or conquer it.

A story of Jack – The Value of Time

Once, a king and a lazy man named Jack were very good friends. One morning, the king said, “Why don’t you do work to earn some money?”
Jack said, “No one gives me job. My enemies told everyone that I never do any work in time.”
The kind hearted king said, “You can go into my treasury and collect as much wealth as you can, till sunset.”
Jack rushed home to tell this to his wife. She said, “Go and get the gold coins and gems now.”
“I cannot go now. Give me lunch first.”
After lunch, he took a nap for an hour. Then in the late afternoon, he picked some bags and went to the palace. On the way, he felt hot so he sat under a tree to rest. Then, two hours later, he got up to go but saw a man showing some magic tricks. He stopped to watch for an hour again.
When he reached the palace it was already time for sunset.
The palace gates had been shut.
So Jack had lost a golden chance because he had not learnt the value of time.
Proper time management is the difference between fame and failure.

Reasons why time is so importance in Life:

  • Time is Perishable commodity

Time waits for none. It comes and goes. Time is absolutely unbound able.
Everyone no matter how rich or poor spends time the same way, it doesn’t speed up for the rich and slow down for the poor.

  • Time is rare

Everybody has the same number of hours, but still some complain about the shortage of time. There is just so little time and so much to do that people go out of focus.

  • Time is needed for everything

We need time to work, to eat, to sleep, to understand others and to accomplish all the daily chores of living.

  • Time management helps you finish more jobs with less effort

Time management means giving importance to priorities and nearer deadlines and these give you enough for the crucial activities in life.
Time management is equal to wise usage of time. This may be the difference between fame and failure.

Proper Time management is indeed a gem. Once it becomes a habit, it will be more beneficial than time-consuming.

If we want to succeed in life we ought to chalk out what we are going to do with the minutes, hours, days, months and years at our disposal.
